Santa and the train.

Nana and Grandpa got us all tickets to ride the train in Grapevine last Sunday. We were happy that Daddy had the day off and could join us.

We got there a bit early but that gave us the chance to run, play, and visit the gift shop.

Cookie decorating party!

Our friend Peyton and her mommy, Allison had a cookie decorating party at Peyton's grandma's house. There was a fun photo booth and a some fun cookie decorating.

Christmas fun

Our Christmas began the weekend after Thanksgiving when we went to the Mainstay Tree Farm. We didn't expect for there to be so much fun for Lil. We played on slides, went through mazes, and picked out our own tree. What a fun time. We ended the day by decorating the tree. Last year, Lil just thought the ornaments were toys. This year, she really got the idea and spent extra time thinking about locations for every ornament.

First official haircut

School begins again this coming week and we knew it was time for Lil to get a haircut. Billy had trimmed her bangs earlier but it was time for an official cut.
Billy goes to a barber shop just down the street and Essie has been cutting his hair for years. She always asks about Lilly and she and B share kid stories since she has a grandchild just a little younger than Lilly.
So who else to do her first haircut than Essie?

When we got there, we had to wait a bit, so Lil got to watch people getting their hair cut. It was good for her to see that and ask questions.

Then it was daddy's turn to get his hair cut. By then, she was feeling comfortable and ready for her haircut! She kept asking, "Is it my turn now?".

As soon as Essie was done with daddy's hair, Lilly jumped up into the chair like a big girl!

Where does she get this stuff?

Lil: mommy. Lay down. Now pretend to sleep. Now say honk shoo a lot.

Let's plant some!

Eating ice cream at Jason's Deli. Some dribbled out of her mouth.
Me: are you drooling?
Lil: no. I was just spitting the seeds out of the ice cream!

Making Faces.

...for it's root root root for the Rangers.

Ever since the first game, Lils has talked about going to the "Rangers" ever since. One day she was walking around with a play purse and I asked her where she was going. She said, "to see the Rangers play!". I told her we couldn't go because we didn't have tickets. She then proceeded to reach into her play purse and pull out some play money. "I have tickets right here, mommy!". So we figured it was time for a repeat. My dad has season tickets so we decided to add on a few tickets and we would go. He had to trade his in for seats all together but other than that, it wasn't a problem. This time daddy would get to go and we would get to see the jumbotron. So fun. This time, we lasted all the way to the 7th inning stretch. I wanted us to stay long enough to sing her new favorite song. She was not ready to leave but all of us were tired and it was past her bedtime. So we said goodbye to the rangers and were on our way.

Year three.

What a difference a year makes.
